The production, reimagined by Pierre Spivakoff was a disaster, and panned by critics. After 3 weeks, Jim Sharman took over to re-direct the show and return it to its original intent. Spivakoff was fired and replaced in the role of Frank N Furter by Roger Mirmot. The role of Brad/Paul was then taken by Gregory Ken (French pop star). Unfortunately the extremely bad reviews had done too much damage and the show only ran for a couple of weeks more.

Review from Le Monde (national major newspaper)

" Rocky Horror Show "
Par COLETTE GODARD. Published on April 9, 1975

“As you leave Porte Saint-Martin where Pierre Spivakoff presents Rocky Horror Show, a question stirs in your head: what is the curse hanging over musical comedies? Comedians, authors, directors dream of it. They obsess over them; they are the object of their desires. They shiver like alchemists in search of the Philosopher's Stone. They collect the precious materials which, elsewhere, have proved their worth, they invent new ones, they pour in their stills, but here it is: the great secret evaporates, the musical remains a mess of extremes, a forbidden paradise.

Pierre Spivakoff is no exception. He found an extravagant character to which, logically, he could add his frenzy, his devastating madness. A character who mixes fantasy, derision, earthiness. A hypersexual transvestite, both Dracula and Dr. Frankenstein. In short, a very "in" character. Around this hero, there is a show that has triumphed for three years in London, performed by singers and not by professional singers. Pierre Spivakoff had the intelligence not to directly copy the London representation. He looked for "cultural" references capable of sparking French imaginations: the fair, its ghost trains, its shimmering rides, its shabby and deafening blues.

Among the actors and actresses who surround him, there are only two who can sing (Roger Mirmont and Nathalie Bréhal), Geoffroy Carey has a very English sense of humour, as he is English, - and the others (Myriam Mézières , Celia Booth, Gérard Surugue) learned their skills at the Magic Circus ... But Jérôme Savary undoubtedly possesses the secret of alchemists, he knows how to control the hilarious flippancy, make it a game, a charge, a spectacle. Pierre Spivakoff does not know. If he had learned to sing, if he had not forgotten that in a musical the direction and the choreography are important, he could have found a style. But, tense, clumsy, all nerves, he lets himself be overwhelmed. His talent is not in question. Moreover, each character taken apart is formidable. Each element of decor, of an aggressive, creaking beauty. Unfortunately, we see everything together and nothing works. At this point, it's awkward.”

Pierre Spivakof is responsible for the success as well as the failure. His realization and interpretation of Rocky Horror Show, the comedy london musical, has been full of error (La Monde April 9). The director of the British version. Jim Sharman, came to Paris to give back to the show its atmosphere and original intent, Roger Mirmont replaces Pierre Spivakov in the role of Frank 'n' Furter and Gregory Ken replaces Roger Mirmont as Paul.
